Offense vs. Defense Triple Threat

I believe that it is very important that players understand the purpose of everything they do. This develops players that are not blindly following what a coach says, but it develops smart players that understand the game so that they can make good decisions on their own. Also I like to allow my players to play in a way which is most comfortable to them. This is why though the above directions are specific, they also allow some wiggle room for players to adjust their stance to fit their own comfort.

That being said players will have to adjust this athletic stance offensively and defensively. On offense a player will assume the triple threat position. As mentioned earlier, the triple threat position is important because it is the ideal position to allow a player the options to shoot, pass, or dribble. Also mentioned earlier, a player will probably adjust their feet to be right at shoulder width apart because this is a more comfortable shooting position.
Defensively the player will want to have his/her feet a about a foot further apart because this will provide the defender with a stronger base. A defensive player focuses on having a strong base for balance, so that they can quickly move in either direction. A defensive player will also have their hands up ready for defense and an offensive player will most likely have their hands out looking for a pass, or with the ball at their chin in the triple threat position.
